My newborn photography sessions are very calm and relaxed - and centred around your baby and your family. There’s no pressure for everything to go perfectly. Babies can be unpredictable, and that’s completely okay.
Rather than creating elaborate or heavily posed images, I focus on capturing your baby in a natural and genuine way. From tiny details and peaceful portraits to cuddles with parents and siblings, we'll create a collection of photographs that feel very personal to your family.
Your baby doesn't need to sleep throughout the session, and there’s no need to worry if they need feeding, changing, cuddling or settling. We work around your baby rather than expecting your baby to work around the camera.

When Should I Book My Newborn Photography Session?
Newborn photography is ideally photographed during the first few weeks after your baby arrives, when they are still very little and those beautiful newborn details are fresh.
Child birth and welcoming newborns is a big life milestone and can have it's unpredictability so I recommend getting in touch during your pregnancy to secure your session. We can use your due date as a guide and keep some flexibility around your baby's actual arrival.
If your baby has already arrived, don't worry - get in touch anyway. There is no need to miss out!
A Relaxed Experience for New Parents
Having a newborn can feel overwhelming enough without then worrying about a photoshoot.
Your session will be relaxed and led by you and baby, with time for feeding, changing, settling and cuddling where needed. I'll gently guide you, but there is no expectation for you or your baby to perform for the camera.

When is the best time to have newborn photographs taken?
Newborn sessions are ideally held during the first few weeks after your baby arrives. However, every baby and family is different, so there isn't a strict deadline. If your baby is already a little older, get in touch and we can make arrangements for what works best.
When should I book my newborn photography session?
I recommend booking during pregnancy, ideally once you know your approximate due date. Your session can then be planned around your expected arrival, with flexibility for your baby arriving earlier or later than expected.
What happens if my baby arrives early or late?
Don't worry - your due date is simply a guide. Babies rarely arrive exactly when expected! We'll keep your session date flexible and arrange the final date once your baby arrives.
Where does the newborn photography session take place?
Newborn sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home or at another suitable location, depending on the type of session you're looking for. Home sessions can be particularly lovely during those early days when you don't want to travel.
What if my baby won't sleep during the session?
That's completely fine. Your baby doesn't need to sleep for us to create beautiful photographs. Some of the most genuine images come from awake moments, little expressions and natural interactions with parents.
What if my baby needs feeding or changing?
That's all part of the session. There is absolutely no need to apologise or feel rushed if your baby needs feeding, changing, settling or a cuddle. We'll simply pause and continue when you're ready.
Can siblings and parents be included?
Absolutely. I strongly encourage parents and siblings to be part of your newborn session. We'll capture photographs of your baby individually as well as the beautiful relationships between everyone in your family.
What should we wear for our newborn photography session?
Simple, comfortable clothing in neutral or complementary colours tends to photograph beautifully.
Do you provide newborn outfits and props?
The focus is on keeping your photographs natural and timeless, so these newborn sessions don't have supplied outfits or props. If you have particular items - blankets, bears or meaningful belongings you'd like included in the photographs, these can ofcourse be included.
Is newborn photography safe?
Your baby's comfort and safety always come first. I won't ask you to place a baby into a position that is uncomfortable or unsafe. We'll work with your baby's natural movements rather than forcing the poses.
Can we combine newborn and pregnancy photography?
Yes. Combining pregnancy and newborn photography creates a beautiful visual story of your journey from expecting your baby to meeting them for the first time.
