Natural Maternity Photography
I believe pregnancy photography should feel authentic rather than overly posed.
From beautiful portraits of your bump to the little moments between you and your partner, we’ll capture a mixture of natural connection and beautifully composed photographs.
Sessions can take place outdoors in one of Hampshire or West Sussex’s beautiful locations, at home, or somewhere meaningful to you. We can create elegant portraits, playful family images and intimate moments that tell the story of this special time.
You don't need to know how to pose. I’ll gently guide you throughout your session while leaving plenty of room for natural moments to happen.
Pregnancy Photography for the Whole Family
Your pregnancy session isn't just about your bump - it’s about the people who are already part of your story.
Partners and children are very welcome, allowing us to capture the excitement of becoming a family of three, four or more.
From your toddler cuddling your bump to those quiet moments together, these photographs become a beautiful record of your family before everything changes again.
What to Expect at a Pregnancy shoot?
Your session will be relaxed and tailored around you.
Before your shoot, you can submit your ideas on location, styling and the kind of photographs you'd love to create. On the day, I'll guide you through flattering, natural poses while also looking out for those spontaneous moments that make the session yours.
You can expect a mixture of:
-
Beautiful pregnancy portraits
-
Natural photographs with your partner
-
Family and sibling photographs
-
Close-up details of your bump and hands
-
Candid moments and connections
-
A mixture of posed and natural images
Sessions are usually best scheduled between 28 and 36 weeks, when your bump is beautifully visible and you're still feeling comfortable enough to enjoy your session.
Outdoors or At - Home
Your session should feel comfortable and natural, which is why you can choose the setting that suits you best.
Good lighting and setting is key to getting great photographs.
Outdoor sessions are perfect for that natural feel, with multiple pose opportunities.
At home is where you are currently nesting and may wish to capture bump in their soon to be nursery.
FAQ'S
When is the best time to have pregnancy photographs taken?
I recommend booking your pregnancy photography session between 28 and 36 weeks. This is usually when your bump is nicely visible and you can still feel comfortable enough to enjoy the session. Every pregnancy is different, so choose the timing that feels right for you.
Where does the pregnancy photography session take place?
Sessions can take place outdoors at a beautiful Hampshire or West Sussex location, at your home, or somewhere meaningful to you. Choose a setting that suits the style of photographs you’re looking for and makes you feel comfortable.
Can my partner and children join the session?
Absolutely. Partners, children and siblings are very welcome, and we’ll create a mixture of individual pregnancy portraits and natural family photographs.
What should I wear for my pregnancy photography session?
Flowing dresses, simple neutral colours and clothing that shows your bump all work beautifully.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all - You don't need any previous experience in front of the camera. I’ll guide you throughout the session with simple, natural poses, while also allowing plenty of time for genuine candid moments.
What happens if the weather isn't suitable?
Photographs in the rain can look artistically incredible! However, if your session is planned outdoors and the weather isn't suitable, we can simply rearrange your session for another date. I want you to have an enjoyable experience as well as beautiful photographs, so there’s no need to worry about a little change of plan.
Can I book pregnancy and newborn photography together?
Yes. Booking your pregnancy and newborn sessions together is a lovely way to document your journey from pregnancy through to meeting your baby. Get in touch and I can talk you through the available options.
How far in advance should I book my pregnancy photography session?
I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly if you have a specific date or are hoping for a weekend session. Once you know your due date, plan your session within the ideal timeframe and allow some flexibility around your baby's arrival.
Do you photograph pregnancy sessions throughout Hampshire & West Sussex?
Yes. I offer pregnancy photography across Hampshire, West Sussex and the surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether your location is within my area, just get in touch.
How do I book my pregnancy photography session?
Simply use the contact form and choose your package, preferred dates and location. I'll then get in touch via email to confirm the details.
